Today I raised in Parliament the case of a constituent who has lost nearly £500,000 following the sudden collapse of a payment services firm. Pauline Creasey, from Dover, is one of 250 customers across the UK affected by the shutdown of Premier FX.
I visited the new Dover Leisure Centre in Whitfield just weeks before the £26 million facility is due to open its doors to the public. BAM Construction – the main contractors – insists work is on budget and on schedule for an official opening in the spring.
Dover is on the Brexit frontline. More so than anywhere else in the country. That is why I have a particular responsibility as your Member of Parliament. And why I am doing all I can to cushion the impacts to our local economy and infrastructure.
