Website award

I went along to the MP website IT awards and was amazed to find this website had won to the top award. This website was a finalist in two categories, but was named as overall winner in the MP Web Awards organised by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

The competition was judged by an independent panel of judges featuring Quentin Letts of the Daily Mail, Mark Say, editor of Government Computing, Matthew Windle, a member of Youth Parliament and Rachel Gibson, Professor of Political Science at the University of Manchester.

This is a great honour. In the new politics, it's really important for MPs to work ever harder to be approachable and keep in touch. Using the Internet and social media to have a continuing conversation with electors makes a huge difference. I will continue to do my best.
