Today the local papers report that the port workers' union Unite is supporting the People's Port bid for the port of Dover.
This is a key development, because it means that just about everybody - politicians, the ferry companies, the town of Dover, the unions are opposed to the Harbour Board's sell off plan. Coming ahead of the referendum which is shortly to be held, the timing could not be better.
