Mayor and MP congratulate Emmaus on homeless work

Dover Mayor, Sue Jones and I opened the annual hog roast of the Dover Emmaus homeless charity. Emmaus is located at Archcliffe Fort and the residents - known as companions - do work repairing furniture. The furniture is sold in a shop on the site.

I was really impressed with the work this excellent charity does for homeless people and in providing work. I will be asking them if they will do up a much loved chair I have that's falling to bits. I encourage everyone to support this charity, go and see the shop for some excellent goods - and don't miss out on the amazing view you get of Dover and the sea when visiting the Archcliffe Fort!"
