Dover Labour split by sexism row

The national Labour Party has imposed an all women shortlist on the Dover Labour Party in choosing their candidate for the next election. This seems to have totally split the Dover Labour Party and caused a huge row by local members who believe such shortlists are sexist. It seems to me that the national Labour Party has written off the local party as a bunch of dinosaurs and it trying to force a start over locally.

Given their opposition to the People's Port, attack on the plan to build a new hospital and the business of eldely widow Kath Thompson being boarded up in her home in Deal, you can kind of see why they might need rebranding.
